The tombstone of the late Rebecca (Becky) Mattatia obm (the late mother of our dear friend Leon Mattatia) took place at the Chevra Kadisha Cemetery Brown’s Road, Springvale on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at 2.00pm.
We wish Leon and the entire family arichut yamim.

The Forgotten Refugees.
This documentary details the life and subsequent exodus of Jews in Arab and Middle Eastern Lands. Regardless of you background, this story is important in documenting the plight of all Jews and has an incredible symmetry to the experiences of Eastern European Jews during WW2.

It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the passing away of Mrs Rachel Braunstein, who was a kind and generous member of our community.
Funeral was Monday the 17th of September 2007 at 2:30pm at the Springvale Jewish Cemetry.

It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the death of Mr Yosef Dahan of blessed memory who passed away in Israel. Yosef is the brother of our dear and kind friend Mr Yaakov Menahem Dahan.

A new Parochet was dedicated in Sassoon Yehuda Synagogue. The Parochet was donated by the Lelah Family to honour the late Ovadia ben Abraham (Albert Lelah)obm. Norman and Donald Lelah, sons of the late Albert Lelah were joined by Rabbi Cohen and about 30 friends at the dedication.
The Parochet's simple design was in keeping with their late father's image as a peace maker and learned Talmudic scholar - Picture here..

"Visit of Joel Boosman to the Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue - The Phoenix digital weekly publication of the KK Talmud Thora Sephardi congregation in The Netherlands" (refer to Page 2 and Page 3 here)
It is a Congregation of Portuguese (and Spanish) Jews in Holland.
It was founded at the beginning of the 17th century by Marranos who found refugee from the Inquisition in Holland.
Present rabbi is Dayan Dr. Pinhas Toledano, who lives now in London, but hopes to move to Holland this summer.
The address: Mr. Visserplein 3, 1011RD Amsterdam.
It is a lovely community made of about 500 souls.
