Please note that the Shloshim Memorial Service for the late Percy Hayim Elijah was held in our Synagogue 79 Hotham Street, East St Kilda on Thursday the 27th of November 2008 at 8:00pm.
The visitation at his grave and the Memorial was held on the next morning at 9:00am in the Lyndhurst Jewish Cemetery.
The location of the Cemetery is in 200 Glasscocks Lyndhurst Victoria.

Kapparot /Hazkarat Neshamot (in cemetery)
Lighting Candles and Fast at 7:13pm
Evening service will begin with ‘Lechah Keli’ at 7:00pm followed by kal Nidrei, Yzkor and Aarbit

2. Yom Kippur-Thursday 9 October 2008:
Shahrit 7:30am followed by the reading of the Torah and Mussaf
Minhah 4:30pm
Ne’iilah 6:00pm followed by the blowing of the shofar, Aarbit, Havdalah and blessing of the Moon
Yomtob and fast end at 8:11pm

  • Selihot services will be conducted in our Synagogue from Monday the 1st of September 2008 till Wednesday Eve of Yom Kippur the 8th of October 2008: Selihot on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays will begin at 5:30am while on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:15am. Selihot on Sundays will begin at 7:30am. Shahrit service will follow the Selihot.

  • Ereb/eve of Rosh Hashannah/ New Year -Monday the 29th of September 2008: Selihot will begin at 5:15pm followed by Annulment of Vows and Shahrit. Minhah will begin at 5:45pm followed by Ahot Ketanah and Aarbit of 1st Day Yom Tob. Light candles at 6:04pm

  • ROSH HASHANNAH DAY I -Tuesday 30 September 2008: Shahrit will begin at 8am followed by reading of Torah, blowing shofar and Mussaf. Minhah will begin at 5:45pm followed by Tashlich, Ahot Ketanah and Yom Tob Aarbit. Light candles not before 7:03pm

  • ROSH HASHANNAH DAY II-Wednesday 1 October 2008: Shahrit will begin at 8am followed by reading of Torah, blowing of shofar and Mussaf. Yomtob ends at 7:03pm

  • Fast of Gedaliah-Thursday 2 October 2008: Selihot will begin at 5:15am followed by Shahrit. Fast begins at 4:33am and ends at 6:54pm

    SoNG (Sephardim of the Next Generation) would like to invite you and your family to join us for a Sephardi Shabbat service on Saturday August 30, 2008.

    The service begins at 9.00am at the Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue, 79 Hotham St, East St.Kilda. Please join us for a Kiddush will following the service.

    If you would like to use this occasion to celebrate a family simchah (birth, birthday, anniversary etc) or commemorate a deceased family member and would like to be called to the Torah, please reply ASAP and will ensure your celebration or commemoration are included in our service.

    It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the death of Mrs Suzanne Harouche a special, humble and kind woman.
    Funeral was Wednesday the 2nd of July 2008 at 11am in the Springvale Jewish Cemetery.
    Memorial service was conducted in the same evening at 6:30pm in our Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue 79 Hotham Street, East St Kilda Victoria 3183

    It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the passing away of Mrs Lolah Casson (nee Brakhah) on the last Shabbat Yom Tov Shevi'ii shel Pessah. The funeral was held Thursday 1st May 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Springvale Jewish Cemetry .

    IYH, we will be celebrating Pessah this year from Sunday the 20th April 2008 till Sunday the 27th April 2008. The first seder night will fall on Motsaei Shabbat.

    It is with great sorrow and grief that we announce the passing away in Israel of Moshe Ben Hayim obm, the father of our dear friend Yehuda Mizrahi.
